Pregnant women to avoid sushi, coffee, and soft cheese

We tell pregnant women to avoid sushi, coffee, and soft cheese.
But nobody warns them about the phone in their pocket.

A San Francisco study tracked 900+ pregnant women for 24 hours, measuring their exposure to electromagnetic field (EMF) radiation from everyday sources – cell phones, microwaves, power lines, smart meters, wifi routers.

The results were alarming.

Women with the highest EMF exposure during normal daily routines were 2.7 times more likely to miscarry than those with the lowest exposure. Not slightly higher risk. Nearly three times higher.

Dr. De-Kun Li, the lead researcher, didn’t mince words: “We really want people to start rethinking the assumption that magnetic-field exposure is safe.”

The invisible sources adding up:
→ Cell phones kept in pockets
→ Sleeping next to charging devices
→ Smart home systems running 24/7
→ Laptops placed directly on the belly
→ Standing next to microwaves while they run

The California Department of Public Health has already issued guidance. Federal studies found cancer links in rodents exposed to similar radiation.

Previous research connected long-term exposure to brain tumors and lower sperm counts.

Here’s what experts recommend for expecting mothers:

📌 Use airplane mode whenever possible

📌 Move devices away from your bed at night

📌 Keep your phone out of your pocket – use a bag or table instead

📌 Distance is your friend: step away from microwaves, routers, appliances when not needed

📌 Consider EMR-shielding products like SPRYEN Solutions‘s Maternity Bundle – a pregnancy band, low-EMR earphones, and a grounding mat designed specifically for moms-to-be

We’re never going back to a device-free world. But we can be smarter about how we use technology during the most vulnerable months.

Are you taking any precautions during pregnancy, or would you now?
