70% of India’s brightest students are silently breaking down

70% of India’s brightest students are silently breaking down.
And we’re handing them more screens.

A recent SRM University (Sri Ramaswamy Memorial University) study reveals something terrifying: Nearly 70% of students across Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, and Kolkata report moderate to high anxiety.

Over 60% show depression symptoms.
70% feel emotionally exhausted.

Delhi students are hit hardest – battling fierce academic competition and crushing isolation, both real and digital.

Dr. Neetu Tiwari from NIIMS Medical College warns: “If 70% of students are experiencing anxiety and emotional exhaustion, we’re witnessing a systemic mental health crisis on Indian campuses.”

The chronic culture of competition, fueled by social media, now equates grades with self-worth.

📌 Here’s what’s dangerous: these students aren’t seeking help. Stigma, lack of awareness, and inadequate resources keep them suffering in silence.

Dr Sabine Kapasi, UN advisor, identifies the missing piece: “Emotional literacy – the ability to understand and express emotions without fear- is what’s missing.”

📌 But there’s another factor nobody discusses: digital burnout. The same devices meant to “connect” students are amplifying their isolation, comparison anxiety, and emotional exhaustion.

Top IITs are launching 24×7 helplines and mandatory counselling. But they’re not addressing the compulsive digital habits deepening the crisis.

At SPRYEN Solutions, we understand that willpower can’t compete with algorithms designed for addiction.

The SPRYEN Detox Box helps students break the scroll-stress cycle. Lock devices away for focused study sessions or tech-free weekends.

With a customizable timer (1 minute to 10 days), students regain control without guilt.

Over 100 doctors recommend physical intervention for digital dependency.

India’s youth are its greatest asset. But 70% are emotionally exhausted. Academic excellence without emotional resilience is a ticking time bomb.

Your mental health deserves more than another wellness app.
