Your child knows about Com groups.

Your child knows about Com groups.
You probably don’t.

And that gap is putting them at risk right now.

Com groups are global networks of online chat spaces where teenage boys are groomed into inflicting cruelty for status. The worse the harm they cause, the higher they rank.

These aren’t hidden on the dark web. They operate openly on Discord, Snapchat and gaming platforms your children already use daily.

Girls and vulnerable kids are deliberately targeted for abuse, sextortion and blackmail.

Between 2022 and 2024, Com-linked cases in the UK rose sixfold. Over 100 active investigations are running right now into these sadistic group chats. The National Crime Agency calls this a major emerging threat.

What starts as a “fun group” slowly normalises cruelty until children are coerced into self-harm and creating abuse content.

The manipulation thrives on secrecy and shame.

As parents, we need to:
→ Talk openly about group chats
→ Teach that banter can be grooming
→ Balance online life with real-world connections

Awareness is the first line of defence.
